BETTY KIMBALL

DWIF Member

Betty Kimble was an active Denton Women's Interracial Fellowship (DWIF) member from the early years throughout. A lifelong Denton resident, she graduated from North Texas State University (now UNT) where she went on to work for years. With the DWIF, she worked towards desegregation and reduced racial barriers to equal opportunity.


Betty was a lifelong activist, serving on numerous boards and committees and was sell known for her volunteer work and care for children. She participated in Keep Denton Beautiful, volunteered at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, served on the advisory board of directors at Hearts for Homes, on the board of directors for Fred Moore Child Care Center and R.S.V.P. of Denton County. She was the driving force behind the establishment of the American Legion Senior Center and served as its Director.
